The Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association is pleased to announce Avery and Emmanuel as recipients of our 2022 scholarship award.

Avery

Avery is a 2022 Highland Park High School graduate. In addition to her outstanding academic achievements, Avery is a talented athlete and an active leader in her school and community.  Avery’s commitment to Ut Prosim is evident through her years of passionate service in CASA, an organization that supports children in the foster care system, and Readers 2 Leaders, among others.  She plans to use her time at Virginia Tech to prepare for a career in Foreign Service.

Emmanuel

Emmanuel is a 2022 graduate of Carrollton’s Harmony Science Academy where he developed his love of art and technology.  His leadership shines through his wide involvement in the school community, from athletics to student council leadership to a variety of clubs. His pursuit of a degree in Creative Technology at VT will allow him to merge his artistic and digital expertise to research video games impact on the brain of adolescents, their video game habits and the impact on their mental health.

Congratulations to ALL of the incoming Freshmen from Dallas-Fort Worth.  We wish you all the best as you begin your adventure at Virginia Tech!
